I wanted to transfer from the full to the half but i hear it's reached capacity. What are my options?
Yes, the half marathon has reached our capacity and we cannot allow any transfers from the full marathon to the half. Please know that you will receive the finisher medal that you registered for and if that distance was not achieved there will be no recorded time in our results.

I can no longer run. Can I get my money back, transfer my entry or defer it to next year?
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon does not offer deferrals but had Transfers to another race distance, virtual event or another runner. Online transfers expired on September 15.

Is race insurance offered and how do i file a claim?
During the registration process, you have the opportunity to add refund protection offered from Protect Group. This enables you to receive a refund for the race if you are unable to attend the event. Please note: you CANNOT retroactively add refund protection. If you select this option, refunds are given by Protect Group. The race is not involved in the refund process in any way. Refunds will be given on all cart items at the time of your initial checkout (items added at a later date will not be refunded). Please see HERE for approved refund circumstances and processes.

I never received a confirmation of my registration. How do i verify that I am registered?
An email was sent to you if you are successfully registered but sometimes they go into a Spam or Junk folder based on your server settings. When you registered you automatically set up an account with our registration platform, Haku. Simply LOGIN and verify all your information and send yourself a new confirmation.
How do I switch from the event I am currently registered for to a different event?
Transfers are available through September 13, 2024, or until a race distance capacity is reached. Log into your account: LOGIN and look for the "transfer" button.

How can I make changes to my registration information (i.e. shirt size) or wish to add some products (i.e. race day bib pickup) ?
Log into your account at: LOGIN and look for the "edit" button.

What is the cut-off time? Can I walk?
Full and Half marathons have a 6.5 hour cutoff. Please follow this link for: Course Pace Information The course does not allow for pedestrian traffic on the bridge and therefore the cutoff will be enforced. Please note, our 2023 event had extremely unseasonable warm weather and every participant that started...finished and earned their medals. We will be looking forward to placing your medal around your neck too!

When is the expo/packet pick-up?
Half/Full Marathon distances:
The expo and packet pick-up will be held on Saturday, October 5th. If you are unable to attend the Expo, you may have your race bib picked up by another as long as they have a copy of your Check-In Pass, which you will receive prior to the event day. This Pass can be printed or shared with another via printed copy or screenshot.

Race Day packet pick-up is available to those who selected the option PRIOR to October 5th. In the event you do NOT pick up your bib at the expo, they may be available at the start line for an additional $40 fee payable at that time. NO EXCEPTIONS. NO BIB–NO ENTRY.

Can I exchange my shirt for another size?
We understand that shirt brands and styles may fit differently from what you normally order and we certainly want you to be happy so we will gladly exchange shirts AFTER the race. You may bring your shirt to the merchandise store on Sunday and exchange it. Sizes are based on a first-come availability and are not guaranteed.

Is this a Boston Marathon qualifying race?
Yes! The course will be a Boston qualifier just like it has for 41 years!
Best place to park on race day?
SATURDAY EVENTS: Please see the event pages for detailed information on where to park for Saturday events.
SUNDAY EVENTS: Parking will be available at the Summerfest grounds (Henry Maier Festival Park) right across the street from our finish line area. Buses for participants only will take you to the Start area on race morning. Spectators will have a short walk to the finish line celebration area. Check out the information on our “Event Details” in the Race Weekend tab on our website.

Is there a pace team?
2024 Lakefront Marathon Pacers will be available for the Half and Full marathon distances. Bio’s and times will be announced this Summer. Keep checking this website for more information. Pacers will also be available at the Expo to answer your questions.

Is there a bag drop?
All 5K run, half and full marathon runners will receive an official Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon drop bag when picking up your bib. Put your items in that bag ONLY–loose backpacks or other “non-official” bags will not be accepted. ​​

Slip your bib bag tag onto the drawstring and tie a knot on the bag. Items not retrieved after the race will be discarded and donated. Please do not put your car keys, cell phone, wallet, or other items of value in your drop bag as race management will NOT be responsible for lost items

What will I find at the aid stations on Sunday?
Each aid station will have water, Lemon-lime Endurance Formula Gatorade, Vasoline, bandages and portable toilets.

GU brand gels will be available at three aid stations on the marathon course and one on the half marathon course. Flavors will be: Salted Caramel (caffeine), TriBerry (caffeine), and Raspberry Lemonade (no caffeine)

How do i get back to my host hotel?
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon will have shuttles running from 10am-2pm from the south end of the Summerfest grounds back to our 4 host hotels: Hyatt, Hilton, DoubleTree and Courtyard.

Can I use headphones?
We strongly discourage the wearing of music devices. Participants must be alert to their surroundings and able to hear medical emergency vehicles, motorcycles, buses and official marathon vehicles. For your safety and the safety of those around you, we strongly urge you to run headphone-free.
​
If you plan to compete for any overall or Age Group awards, please DO NOT wear headphones as they will disqualify you per USATF rules. It is YOUR responsibility to know the USATF rules. Officials will be on the course monitoring activity and we do not want to see anyone disappointed so plan ahead.

How do I get my Age Group award?
Overall and Age Group award ceremonies will take place on the "after party/entertainment stage" at approximately:

Can my friends join me on the course?
No, non-registered spectators are not allowed on the race course. This includes any type of pacer who is in the traffic lane adjacent to our secured course. Our Course Marshalls will act as additional official reviewers and are instructed to report any infractions, which may result in runner penalties, including disqualification.​

Are hydration packs allowed?
Hydration packs will be allowed. The staff and volunteers of the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon reserve the right to inspect any runner bags

Will you have "elite" runners attending?
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon will be offering a limited number of comped entries into our marathon distance. In addition to 4 elite bottle stations and the overall 1st-5th place cash awards/trophies, we will be offering a $5,000 bonus for the first Male and/or Female that bests our fastest recorded Lakefront Marathon time (M: 2:14:09/F: 2:37:39). How do you guarantee that the race is fair to all?
The Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon does not condone nor accept any athletes that do not adhere to all of the policies and rules of the USATF. Any violations will result in disqualification and athlete may be barred from competing at the Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon for a period of 5 years. It is the athletes responsibility to know the rules of the USATF.

Are jogging strollers or pets allowed on the 5K run, 1/2 and full marathon course?
Unfortunately, due to some of the width of our course, insurance coverage and courtesy to all, we will not allow strollers, wagons or pets in the 5k run, half marathon or full marathon events.

Are strollers or pets allowed for Walk The Hoan?
Yes strollers will be allowed in the Walk The Hoan event. Should a participant elect to use a stroller, it is at his/her own risk, and he/she accepts full responsibility to ensure adequate space and distance to maneuver, make abrupt stops and turns, and yield to others. Any participant’s stroller use deemed to have a negative impact on other participant’s ability to fully and safely participate in the event, will be asked to be leave the course. The pushing participant accepts full liability and responsibly for any injury or death that results while using a stroller during an event to anyone involved, including but not limited to the pushing participant, rider, other participants, or event volunteers. A stroller is different from an adaptive chair for a challenged athlete. Adaptive chairs are not prohibited or discouraged from events.
WELL-BEHAVED dogs will also be allowed but they must be leashed with a maximum length of 3'. We ask that you start in back of the regular walkers. This is a walk and no running with a pet shall be permitted. Race management reserves the right to prohibit an animal from course if necessary.
